Tree La Rooy serves as the Collection Librarian (Development) in the University of Otago Library's Digital and Collections division, specifically within the Collection Strategy and Development team. Tree La Rooy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Otago. He actively contributes to the library's digital resources by creating and updating LibGuides, including the guide for Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences, last updated September 8, 2025. As former TEU Otago Branch President, Tree La Rooy has publicly advocated for the central importance of humanities departments to the University of Otago's reputation.
